"French delivery men"
Today I had a phone call with my Best Buy package delivery, and it was honestly so hard to understand what he was saying. His English was really bad, and my French is just as bad. He was speaking really loudly and a bit roughly — maybe even a little rude — but I could tell it wasn’t his fault. I was trying so hard to understand him, and he was also trying his best to make me understand.
He spoke slowly and loudly in English, and first he asked if I was at home. Obviously, I wasn’t — I was outside. Then he told me to send him a message, like an exact text saying, “Please leave the Best Buy package in the lobby.” It took me a while to figure out what he meant, but thank God I finally understood. I sent the message, and he left the package there.
It was honestly a tough experience — kind of ridiculous, to be honest — and it made me low-key want to learn French as soon as possible. I really had a hard time, but at least I got my package in the end.
